Minnehaha Park straddles the Mississippi River between Minneapolis and St. Paul. The most stunning feature is the 53-foot waterfall at the heart of the park. Take in the striking falls and then venture into the gorge below to the sandy pools that are enjoyed by both sun-lovers and anglers. It will quickly make you forget you’re in the middle of two cities.

Explore the riverfront park on foot or take a tour on one of the bike paths. Bring your pup to play in the forested off-leash dog park. Throw down a blanket, or string up a hammock and just relax in this urban oasis.

A visit to the park isn’t complete without a visit to Sea Salt Eatery. The lines at the restaurant might be long, but the pay-off is great. Find a great spot to enjoy some fish tacos, ice cream and a cold beer overlooking the falls. It’s a picture-perfect way to cap off a day at Minnehaha Falls.
