More than 25 years ago, Sean Tillman adopted the name of a strip mall in Roseville, MN and has been rockin’ it across the country as Har Mar Superstar ever since.

The Minneapolis singer/songwriter has opened for The Strokes, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lizzo and written songs for artists including The Cheetah Girls and Jennifer Lopez. Not only a musician, Tillman has also written scripts for both the stage and screen. You may have even seen him pop up in films & TV shows like Starsky & Hutch, Pitch Perfect, and Broad City.

Here’s a big shout out to Har Mar Superstar for joining with the Lottery to celebrate First Avenue’s 50th Anniversary.

The transformed Greyhound bus station in downtown Minneapolis opened its doors on April 3rd, 1970. In 2020, Rolling Stone deemed First Avenue as one of the ten best live music venues in America.

Prince, The Replacements and The Jayhawks stars hang together on the outside of First Avenue along with some of the greatest artists from around the world that have all played at the venue over the last 50 years.

Congratulations to First Avenue on 50 fabulous years of bringing amazing live music and unforgettable adventures to the Twin Cities.

The Minnesota Lottery is proud to celebrate this Minnesota icon with our own First $50 scratch ticket and 2nd chance. Find out how you could win!
