Privacy Policy
The Minnesota State Lottery is strongly committed to maintaining the privacy of personal information gathered from the use of its website. Email addresses or other information that is obtained when visitors interact with the Minnesota State Lottery website are used to respond to inquiries or to provide requested information or to enhance or benefit the Minnesota State Lottery and its products, and are not sold or provided to third parties except as required by the Minnesota Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. § 13. Specifically, the names, physical and electronic addresses, and telephone numbers collected from account holders for marketing purposes are considered private data on individuals under Minnesota law and are not provided to anyone outside of the Lottery without consent unless otherwise required by the Minnesota Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. § 13.
Beware of Scams
The Minnesota State Lottery has received numerous reports of lottery scams in Minnesota. These scammers often pretend to be an employee of a lottery or lottery association and often use the logo of a real lottery or game (such as Powerball®, Mega Millions®, or Lotto America®).
We urge you to be aware of the following information to avoid becoming the victim of a scam artist:
- DO NOT SEND MONEY! This includes cashier’s checks, money orders, any type of prepaid card (e.g., Visa® gift card, Green Dot MoneyPak purchased at a store) or any other type of payment.
- We will never call you or send an email or letter unless you entered a non-winning ticket or other drawing on . For your protection, do not respond to any other inquiries stating you won a lottery prize.
- Do not give out any personal information. This includes your phone number, address, mother’s maiden name, bank information, credit card numbers, Social Security number, PINs or any other personal information.
